A family man and experienced professional

Family is at the center of Michael Canet’s life; he is a devoted husband and father. He loves camping with his five brothers and sisters, and twelve nieces and nephews. He also enjoys playing catch with his boys, and spending quality time with his family.

As an estate planning attorney, Michael spends meticulous hours planning family legacies. His ability to bring clarity to a difficult process provides his clients peace of mind in knowing that their families will be protected in the future.

Community leadership.
At the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Society, Michael accepts tax, guardianship and bankruptcy cases, and conducts classes. The work is fulfilling, and also a test of his skills.

Michael sits on the committe of Vino Scholastico, an exquisite tasting of wines to fund Howard Community College student scholarships.

He is also on the Board of Trustees for the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra, a non-profit organization that produces memorable symphonic music and much more.

As a member of the Deans Advisory Council for the University of Baltimore, College of Liberal Arts, Michael assists in advancing the future direction of the college and serves the college as an ambassador at large.

Education.
Michael completed his undergraduate studies and earned his master’s degree in taxation from the University of Baltimore. He attended law school at the Catholic University of America, earning a spot on the Legal Honor Society. He was also a Wilson Scholar who made the list of Who’s Who of American University Students.
